MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The stockings were hung by the fire with care.... after Mommy and Daddy spent hours wrapping and placing gifts under the tree NINJA style. Now that the kids are older, it takes serious skills to get the living room looking like this without anyone waking up on us:
I love this moment, when all the hard work is done and the house is quiet. Because soon enough little squeals and little footsteps will be jumping for joy at the sight of this tree and these gifts. This is the moment that the whole month of December is working towards, and I know the moment the kids wake up that Christmas is near its end.
Cookies decorated by my little elves, ready for Santa to arrive...
And arrive he did!!! There were three special gifts left in the middle of our living room for three special kiddos.
Miss Kins got a Minnie Mouse ride on car from Santa.
AJ got a Ninja Turtle Lair, finally a place for all his turtles to have epic battles!
I don't even know how Santa got that down the chimney...
KK got a fashion design kit so she can create new fashion clothes and accessories.
Clearly Kins just hates her gift from Santa...
A win for mommy and daddy -- OLAF! Surprisingly, the shouts we heard immediately this morning were not for the Santa gifts in the middle of the room. It was KK and AJ squealing in glee that they each got an Olaf stuff animal that was hidden in the gifts.
Classic but I still love it!
She seriously wouldn't get off the toy to open gifts from anyone else..
I mean she was so happy to have Olaf - love this.
Kins finally discovered the family presents, she got a baby doll stroller for her babies.
And so she again ignores all the gifts and proceeds to play Mommy with her babies.
We don't do the "tear into gifts like mad" thing at our home. Instead we make sure everyone has a gift and we take time enjoying everyone receiving their gift. I know it sounds like something the adults force on everyone, but honestly the kids love it.
So here we go... time for round 1 of many rounds of PRESENTS!!!!
Kins 1st year to open her gifts without too much help...
YAY! She loves Doc McStuffins (fast forward to our summer road trips, where the rest of us in the car regret the moment she got this movie as we have listened to it 200 times and cannot stand 201...)
My sweet boy gave me a picture of him as Rudolph - I love it!
Our big gift to KK: TAYLOR SWIFT TICKETS! She was screaming in excitement... and me too (because I get to go too yahoooo)!
More Doc McStuffins toys! Kins is in heaven.
A doctor's kit!
and she got Lambie!
Daddy got AJ a basketball hoop for his room - the boys.
The kids picked out a TCU puzzle for daddy (hehe)
Minnie mouse blanket that is bigger than she is...
and the BIG gift of the day from mom and dad... they didn't even see it coming
IPADS! They were SHOCKED!
They were seriously surprised to silence, it was precious.
Kins was all about playing throughout the gift opening... here she is bossing her daddy around with that sweet little finger of hers.
And she has stolen my camera while making daddy hold onto her baby...
I love this sweet baby girl!
She's taking a picture of daddy taking a picture of her...
The kids got me just what I wanted.. a necklace with charms about them (that I maybe picked out myself hehe)
And they got me BOOKS! I love it!
KK got daddy a TCU keychain
And of course, after the opening of most of the gifts and before the facetiming of families, I needed to capture this day with us all together in our jammies...
And yes, the only way Kins was going to smile for me was if she could hold the camera haha. Stubborn little girl makes me laugh.
Maybe next year we buy her a camera?
A baby bottle of milk after all that hard present opening... while Daddy makes beignets and the Christmas parade starts.
And after all the presents are open, she discovered she can clean with Mommy with her new vacuum (that looks just like mommy)
Our traditional Christmas morning breakfast... beignets, bacon and orange Julius.
Oh no! Now she wants the big camera!
Christmas music, toys and gift wrap everywhere... this is the best part of our day together.
Merry Christmas Y'all!
