AJ's First Soccer Game EVER

So today was the day!  The day AJ had been waiting for since KK played her first soccer game: His chance to show us his moves and PLAY SOCCER for real.  Just like KK, AJ joined the YMCA soccer team.  After all this waiting, we expected him to jump out of bed ready to play....

Instead little man hid under the covers and said he wanted to skip today.  After his favorite breakfast (he is a bacon and eggs kind of boy), he decided he was ready to go!

Here is my boy cheesing big time:

Now we are blue and white.  When we are the visiting team we are white, when we are home we are blue.  I love that our coach's wife got their names on the shirts - so cute!

As you can see from above, it was raining/misty and windy.  March in Texas!  But that didn't deter our team.  It was time to warm up!

GAME TIME

Here is our cute little team lined up with coach for a quick pep talk.  See #1!  That is my cutie!  (Yes, he is the littlest on the team but (spoiler alert) stay tuned as that didn't stop him).

Right before our first kick off - love that he smiled at me!

Okay so I said he was small, but he is oh so MIGHTY!

The minute the whistle blew this boy o'mine was in the mix of ten players kicking and chasing that ball like nobody's business!  He was so into the game he was jumping up and down at kickoffs and breaks because he couldn't contain himself!

Our little man helping his fellow players out and running along side the ball just in case help is needed.

He was so fast I could barely catch him in a picture!

AJ loved the game so much, when he was taking a break for other players to play he stood on the sideline asking "is it my turn yet Mom?" - he couldn't wait to get back into the mix.  I kept waiting for him to yell "Put me back in Coach, I'm ready"!

Tunnel time!  What a great game!  AJ helped his team score two goals by assisting his teammates and helping kick the ball towards the goal. He never kicked it into the goal himself (yet) but twice he kicked the ball towards a teammate by the goal and they scored.  What a team player!

There was a sweet moment that touched my heart during the game: AJ accidentally ran into another player while playing.  He stopped, turned around and made sure the other boy was okay right away.  He came over to tell me that he was being a good sport which was important.  That's right baby!  It's not just about goals.  Love him!

Here is a little video of AJ explaining how he helped make a goal - he was so handsome out there.  AJ made us laugh and smile the whole time because he just couldn't contain how happy he was out there - I don't think I stopped smiling the whole game.

WAY TO GO AJ! You did great out there! We can't wait to see what the season brings little man! We love you little man!

My Blessings!

I'm showing off my babies and their latest pictures.  We went in to just get pictures for AJ who is almost FOUR and for Kin's 6 month milestone (I get pro pictures of the kids every three months the first year, then annually after that.  Just something I like to do to mark each age milestone).

So here you go, my sweet babies.  They are beautiful (I am biased but heck, its my blog so go with me).

I do hate the spring background.  Sadly PI requires you to take some shots... I explained I felt the background looked like throw up, but the photographer insisted.  At least my kids are adorable.

Our sweet girl - notice there are no full body shots.  The next picture explains what happened....

Just to make this more real - here is where Kins told us she was over the session.  Classic!  Still sweet though, she even cries cute.

So those are the pictures - had to share my little blessings!  They are my life :-)

Sweet dreams!

Spring Soccer Part 1

So it is that time of year again!  SOCCER  SEASON!  This will be KK's 6th season playing soccer.  Every season she just gets faster and more intense during the games.  I can't wait to see her having fun and playing her heart out in the coming months.  While we don't have many pictures, I had some cute ones I wanted to share as I am blogging away tonight.

True to Texas, one day its hot the next its about to snow.  Here is Miss Kins, staying warm and toasty while the rest of us froze in 30 degree weather and wind.  She was rocking that cute hat!  If she isn't sleeping cozy in her stroller, she is being held by another soccer Mommy and in bliss.  Spoiled you say?

HERE IS MY SOCCER PLAYER!  Ready to kick some booty in her first game of the season.  As always, KK was a great teammate and supported her friends as she ran along side them.  She continues to be our "enforcer" and loves chasing the other team down to our goal and stopping them in their tracks!

And here is my cheerleading buddy!  Always snuggling next to me and keeping me company on the sidelines while Daddy coaches and KK plays.

Stay tuned - AJ is starting soccer this season too for the FIRST time!  Pictures and details as soon as we have our first game.

Whew - two soccer schedules, two practices, one coach and a baby?  It's going to be a crazy spring, but we will have fun!

Kins and the Sweet Potato

So as many of you might remember, our attempt at first peas was somewhat of a failure.  Kins caught on real quick what we were up to and she really wasn't having much of it.  After a week of peas, we decided to venture on to sweet potatoes.  Would it go better?

Here is Kins, already suspicious before we even brought out the jar.  I think the camera tipped her off again.  Smart cookie!

Note: After a few cracks about how I left the bib off in the last round, I upgraded... I mean this is our third baby, we have figured out that a bib really isn't going to stop the peas from going everywhere. Those chubby wubby hands are busy when we eat, pushing it in our ears, hair, our bottom (no idea how that happened, she is sneaky).  But we decided to step it up even further this time around.  Being the savvy (insert sarcasm here) momma that I am, I just tied a kitchen towel around her.  I know, my poweress amazes you (I need a sarcasm font).

We did get a big smile when we cooed at her and revealed this bright orange jar of something silly. And yes, our baby's hair does go from blonde to brunette to red in pictures.  We knew she was something special, but that still surprises us!

And here we go!  First bite of sweet potatoes!!! The verdict?  The next picture says it all:

We LOVE it!

We love it so much we are licking it off the towel because Mommy wasn't moving fast enough for us.

Here we are post sweet potatoes - the towel worked.  We only found a few spots in our ears and hair this time around.  And of course some on our cute chubby wubby cheeks (the top ones mind you, the bottom was clear this time).

We loved sweet potatoes so much - we ate the WHOLE jar in our first tasting.  Such a happy baby, we love you sweet girl!

That's it - sweet dreams!
