Disney Vacay Day 5: Magic Again

So we made it to Thursday!  Day 5 of our awesome Disney Vacation!  We were tired but so excited to have another day at Magic Kingdom.  Because we had explored and taken our time the 1st day we visited, today was a day to just enjoy all our favorite rides over and over again, without the pressure of making sure we see everything we needed to see.

AJ ready to start his day!  His surprise at the end of his bed this morning: cute sunglasses.  Gotta be cool when you are cruising around Disney.

KK's surprise was a mustache purse... a girl can never have enough purses :-)

So when we hit the park, KK and Daddy headed to her favorite spot: Space Mountain. Yup, our girl is all about the thrill rides and made sure to hit the best ones at each park.  They beat the crowds and rode a few times in a row.  Daddy said that KK is all about her hands up in the air and screaming in glee the whole way down in the dark.  It's cute, she has her hands up before the ride even starts she gets so excited.

AJ and I headed to his favorite spot: Goofy's Barnstormer Roller Coaster.  This cute little roller coaster was perfect for AJ, just his speed.

At one point, since we were riding and running around to jump back on, the helpers running the ride just let us stay in our seats. He too started throwing his hands up and screaming or going "aaaaaaa" during the ride.

KK joined us for a few quick rides as well - we had to commemorate one of AJ's favorite rides of the trip!

Next up another favorite: DUMBO!

Yeah, we look good.  Don't deny it!

AJ wanted to take a picture so he got this great one of us with KK.  See the other gift she got his morning when she woke up - her Daisy and Minnie sparkle tshirt.

So after Dumbo, I got to pick one of my favorite rides: The Teacups!

Daddy had to pass, he said he is too tall and gets too dizzy. Weenie!  That just meant more room in our teacup to spin even faster.  And while we wait, the kids wanted to take pictures with the camera again.  You can kind of see AJ's other gift of the morning: a Mickey Mouse tshirt!

And I got a little treat too for the trip - my blinged out Minnie tee (thank you Walmart for your $5 tees)!

WE LOVE THE TEACUPS!!!!  Love these smiles and giggles so much!!!

So we had just one more ride in us before we were off to a special breakfast.  AJ and I decided to ride the Buzz Lightyear ride together, while KK went off for another trip to Space Mountain.  She's addicted to thrill rides :-)

Little stinker put himself in jail at the end of the ride haha

Now it was time to head out of the Kingdom and over to Chef Mickey's to have breakfast with Mickey and the gang!

One our way we saw one of the cutest backdrops of our favorite castle...

AJ was all about working his new shirt and glasses.  Do you love this pose he did all by himself?

So we thought we would attempt a better (non-matching family shirt) photo of our family in front of the castle, since we weren't in love with the ones we took on Monday.  Sadly the very handsome boy who was posing alone so sweet decided he wanted none of it:

And so now I can laugh and remember that while this vacation was fun, there were still a few bumps in the road :-)

KK got her hair glittered up for free at the Disney barbershop on Main Street - you need to be a little extra fancy before brunching with Minnie.

Chef Mickey's!  One of our sit down character meals and one I was very excited about.  I love everything about breakfast food.

AJ was more than willing to take a picture by Chef Mickey...

So after we got our plates filled with everything from eggs to pancakes and fruit or donuts, our first visitor escaped the kitchen to say hi to us and take some pictures.

She really is the sweetest!
And right behind her is the one and only Chef Mickey, still wearing his chef clothes.

Had to get a family picture with him!

Mickey and AJ had fun talking together.

And then a few moments later came one of our favorite characters: Donald Duck!

AJ was so excited he was hugging him before Donald could finish signing his book.

Its hard to sign books when your mouth gets in your way - so funny!

And before we knew it, good old Goofy was here chuckling and making us laugh.

KK making sure Goofy's signing her book

AJ was talking to Goofy and Goofy just decided to use his head as a table.  AJ thought this was hilarious!

And the best was saved for last (if you ask AJ): PLUTO!  Who knew a doggie could cook?

KK was super excited to see Pluto.

And so was AJ!  This was the 2nd time he got to see him, and he was so pumped he was jumping up and down like a crazy boy.

Breakfast was a complete success!  Lots of hugs and smiles, autograph books were filling up, and it was a nice break from walking around.

The beauty of our 2nd day inside the Magic Kingdom was the relaxed tone to the day and no pressure to see the whole kingdom again.  And as we strolled back onto Main Street, we were debating where to go next.  Suddenly we heard music and found ourselves walking in the middle of a parade!

We loved it!  Perfect accidental timing led to us dancing and waving at some of our favorite characters as they danced and grooved down Main Street!

I believe this was the "Get up and Groove" parade - it had great cast and upbeat music.  After that we were ready to ride some new rides and make the most of our afternoon and evening.

To escape the warmer temperatures and sun, we found ourselves at Ariel's Grotto and rode through the Little Mermaid.

Next we had a Fast Pass to Big Thunder Mountain.  Today was the first day it was open again after being remodeled!  Needless to say, our roller coaster loving kiddos were pumped!

Thunder Mountain was a success, the kids loved it (and the adults did too).

Next up we were off to watch the.best.parade.you.will.ever.see.  Yes, I am not even exaggerating a little bit.  The pictures below won't do it justice.  The floats are vibrant and colorful, the music filling the park is perfectly timed to the float and characters as they pass by.  There is dancing and movement and singing... it was one of my top moments of our trip and I wish we could watch it again and again.

Mommy saving a spot (people start saving spaces an hour before the parade starts)...

And here is the Festival of Fantasy Parade:

Belle and the Beast

A new addition to the parade that debuted while we were there: Ana and Elsa!  KK was over the moon excited to see them.  Such a fun moment!

They were singing "Do you want to build a snowman" together.

Next up was Rapunzel and her ruffians dancing in the street

And Rapunzel singing

With Flynn Rider and Maximus behind her on the float battling with a frying pan :-)

Next up was Ariel and her friends from Under the Sea dancing in the street - such beautiful costumes!

Ariel was brushing her hair with a fork :-)

AJ loved the Peter Pan float

With Tinkerbell at the back of it teasing those pesky pirates

and of course Tick Tock Crocodile spinning around looking for Captain Hook!

Suddenly the streets filled with Irish tunes as Merida arrived

Followed behind by Prince Phillip and the Fairies, who came right up to us and said hello while they danced down the street.

It all ended with Maleficent as a dragon that actually breathed FIRE!  What an amazing parade, we were in awe through the whole event.

So after our break, just around the corner and an old favorite of mommy and daddy: Splash Mountain.

The kids had no idea how much fun they were about to have... luckily it is a hot day at this point and we needed to cool off :-)

Daddy and AJ after the 30 foot plunge into the water... Daddy took most of the water being so big.

Us girls were in the front of the boys... we got a lot more water in our faces than they did!

After our cool down, it was time for funnel cakes!  Then we headed back to the hotel to rest and relax before hitting the park at night.

So a nap and allowing Donald to join us in the park made for the perfect picture of our family and the castle all lit up!

Love Cinderella's Castle - it was a beautiful night.  We were ready to ride our favorite rides once more and take in the park one last time.

Our first stop of the evening: Splash Mountain!  The kids were hooked.

Haha Daddy took a full splash to the face... he learned quick never to sit on the very front row when you are 6 foot 5 inches tall.

See - Daddy was pretty much soaked from the shoulders up :-)  AJ and KK were pretty pumped about how wet they got too!

We also found Tinkerbell and got another signature for our books!

KK was pretty excited, she loves Tinkerbell movies!

And now it was my turn to ride Space Mountain with KK!  She had her hands up the moment we sat down and screamed the entire way down.  I might have too - but not in joy.  Maybe more like fear... was it really that dark when I was a kid?  Daddy and AJ went to the Barnstormer again, no surprise there!

Saw this as we were walking around - perfectly lit up!

Main Street as we hit the road... we stayed at the park until midnight, closing it down.  AJ was smiling but sleepy, so Daddy gave him a ride on his shoulders.

Both kids were asleep before the bus left the park... this is what happens when you are at Magic Kingdom from 9am to midnight.  It was a GREAT day, lots of fun and just doing our favorite things all day long.

Sweet Dreams Y'all!
