We arrived 12 hours later at Oma & Opa's house, ready to be out of the car and to start playing. KK and AJ love Oma's house, there is a special play room made just for kids that is attached to their bedroom, and filled with my old toys. KK was drawn to the dollhouse, and ever since has been asking Santa for one for Christmas. She loved playing with it and the Barbies. AJ joined in as well, no surprise there.
Our visit was very chill, just spending time playing and relaxing in the house. We took walks around the neighborhood, played at the playground (and the swing in the backyard), snuggled on Opa and baked German cookies with Oma. The basement, we discovered as we have none where we live, is a place of wonder for KK and AJ. From the train table to the gym equipment to the hula hoops, it was their favorite place to play.
We did have some adventures while we were there. We went to the Plaza to do some Christmas shopping. We lunched together at Cheesecake Factory and read stories at Barnes & Noble, trying to wait for darkness so KK and AJ could see it all lit up for Christmas. Sadly, we had to leave before we saw the lights, but we did get to drive through downtown and see it all lit up. It was fun. Daddy also took us to a must-try BBQ joint. While KK wasn't a fan, it was delicious.
And we have to show our little man, who demanded a pony tail after bathtime one night. He and KK were having a blast with it (and so were we). So much hair in the back, not much on top. He is bringing back the mullet!
