Our little princess turned TWO this weekend and we had to throw her a birthday party that would make a splash! So of course, our spray park seemed like the perfect place for our little bash...
Here is our birthday girl right before the party started! Already all wet, having found the buckets and run into the water before I could snap a picture of her in her new swimsuit and bows! Can you guess what the theme of our party might be?
If you guessed Minnie Mouse you win!
Kins just loves her Minnie Mouse so it seemed like the perfect theme for our little girl!
Here is another picture of our sweet baby girl (she will always be my baby girl). She looks so precious, I just want to grab her and kiss her!
In sticking with our Minnie Mouse theme, I had way too much fun coming up with ideas for party food. See below...
"Le-Minnie-aid" for the kids to drink
Mickey Bow Ties made from strawberries and blueberries along with some Pluto's Pirates Booty
Goofy's Wacky Watermelon (its wacky because they are watermelon balls he-he)
and of course Daisy's Vegetable Garden (because everyone who watches Mickey Mouse on TV knows Daisy loves her garden)!
Donald was in charge of the drinks and he was thrilled...
And then everything was pink with polka dots, in typical Minnie Mouse fashion!
After we set up, our sweet friends arrived to sit back and enjoy the beautiful evening. Seriously, high 70s in July in Texas? We had the splash park to ourselves and an amazing evening outside to celebrate our little Toodles! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening.
Now Miss Kins was happy as a lark once her 2nd "momma" showed up at the party. From the moment she saw her, Kins was waving her arms to instruct her other "momma" and have her follow around the splash park and cater to her every whim. Spoiled much? Seems that Kins was thrilled at not having to share her "momma" with two other baby girls this one evening. It was funny and sweet, we are very blessed to have this 2nd momma to love on her every day.
Having the best time at her party!
It seemed everyone had a great time - here are some other pictures of our friends big and small playing and celebrating together:
Watch out bubba is going to get you!
Hmmm she isn't loving that kiss right now bub!
After some serious playing, it was time to eat "Pete's Pizza" and all the other goodies!
I am loving my party!!!
A few of the big kids relaxing
So in true me fashion, I wanted to get a family picture to commemorate this night. I had to laugh when we saw the results...
Poor Kins wanted to play and was not interested in pictures...
Then Daddy stole AJ's cup and AJ ran off to pout... please note the back left corner of our photo. Yup, photo bombed by the very child who refused to take the picture with us. I am laughing so hard...
So we decided to ditch the big kids and just get a quick shot of us with the birthday girl... haha! Yup, now we are photo bombed by KK...
Finally! We got a keeper! Its all about zoom apparently and sweet friends who got our girl to smile while they snapped away (thank you ladies)!
Here are some of the girls having an intense discussion about something - we think they are plotting to overthrow the boys with buckets?
I did get to snuggle my tootie for a few minutes mid-party before she ran off for more splashing fun...
Some of the most amazing women you will ever meet - love these ladies!
So after some more playing (and chatting), it was time for CAKE! Cupcakes to be exact.
Here are the Minnie Mouse cupcakes I made for Miss Kins - they turned out super cute!
We gathered everyone around to sing Happy Birthday to Kins while we held a cupcake and a very large "2" candle. It is at this moment we realize two key things: (1) The candle is way too big to stay on the cupcake alone and (2) the wind is never going to allow this candle to be lit.
We don't panic... I tell my hubby to just hold the candle and we will pretend. Sadly, said hubby took this to mean something along the lines of "I have an entire birthday song to make this candle light up"... haha!
So we just sang away while Daddy kept fighting with the candle!
Daddy finally accepted he lost the battle by the end of the birthday song...!
Sweet Kins wasn't done yet though. After all her sweet friends sang "Happy Birthday", she immediately put her two little hands together and signed "more"... she wanted everyone to sing again! See we had been singing the birthday song to her all week as we were getting ready for her big day, and she absolutely loves the song. She loves that her name is in it, she loves the way we all look and her and sing to her... she LOVES it! And since it was her party, everyone was sweet enough to immediately start up round 2 of the song.
The only reason we aren't still at the park singing to this girl is because we distracted her with Oreos and cupcake!
Checking to see if she really gets to hold this all by herself...
A friend helping show her how to eat those Minnie ears on the cupcakes...
Wait a minute! You can lick the icing off your fingers?!? Love this picture of her!
The cupcakes are a hit!
Everyone seemed to enjoy them
After cupcakes, everyone just settled in to enjoy the evening and relax or play...
Yup... she was still playing with her "momma" until the very end!
Opps, the water got us!
Brothers from different Mothers (Oh yes I did, oh yes I did)
Snuggling with her 2nd "lala" (that's Kin's talk for sister)
We got so many amazing pictures of all our friends, I love that we have these memories! Thanks to my friends who gladly took the camera from me and helped capture these moments - I love you!
We see you Liney! Photo bombed again tonight!
Kins had sooo much fun tonight!
She even got a birthday kiss from her bestie... watch out Mister, no boys until she is celebrating her 30th birthday!
Us birthday girls telling everyone "thank you" for coming and celebrating with us! Kins had the best night ever! I mean 25 friends who love us and sang songs to us (on repeat no less), dessert that had Oreos on top, splashing in the water with friends all night.. it really couldn't have been better. Thank you to all our friends who came and celebrated, you made the night special which is all we wished for. We love you!
And Happy Birthday to our sweet little Kins! Since she was born she has done nothing but brighten up our lives and make us laugh and smile. I can't believe we have had this little gift from God for two entire years! We are so blessed!
Sweet dreams y'all!
